There is a "trend" among Chev/GM owners to up their wheel size to 19.5 on the 3500 series. Kool factor seems to be the motivation, many of the same people also change their door handles to the ones used on Escalades, a REAL functional upgrade.

It is a width thing, not a weight thing for the roof and rear center lights.
This whole DRW/SRW, 250/350 is debated endlessly with each side firmly entrenched in their beliefs. Myself, I traded in a GMC K2500 SRW big block for a K3500 DRW diesel and will never go back to the SRW given my trailer and camper setup.

All joking aside, the earlier reference to parking & women being able to go to the store in a single wheel vs dually truck...puke! I am a female and I have NO problem at all parking my dually in any parking lot, or going to the grocery store. I've pulled trailers with both single wheel and dual wheel trucks, and anyone who says there isn't a difference is in denial.

I believe that it has some to do with trailer width also. Say, a 7' vrs. 8' wide trailer. I've had both style pick-ups, srw & drw. I get along fine with both. only time I ever notice much diff. is when we have calves in the NOSE of the trailer. Our goosenecks are 7' wide, that's what we prefer, our 8'6" wide wagons sit behind a FLD 112 Freightliner. (yes, it's a drw, LOL). Even I have a little trouble fitting it into the parkin' spaces at the ol' Wal-Mart! LOL.

Try parking around here. In some parking lots it is a tight squeeze fitting my husbands mazda 6 in one spot. Most people just take up 2 spots. You'd figure that would give the stores a hint for when they repaint the lines, but no.

Parking is the same here. I think they make all of the spots for sub compacts! I just park far away and take up more spaces. The walk's good for me anyhow. :0)
