Someone is wanting to purchase my horse trailer and include money for me to pay the shipper.this sounds fishy to me. He said to wait till the check clears then he will have shipper at my place to pick up the trailer. What would be the scam here if the check clears? Anyone have experience with this? Red flag went up for me when he asked me to pay his shipper

Oh don't. Run. Us dealers get this all the time. Basically- if that check turns out to be fraudulent, the bank can come back on you for a very long time. Like many weeks. So while you may see it in your account in a day or so, doesn't mean it may be taken back out next month. If there's an issue, itr'll usually show up within 10 banking days, but even that isn't guaranteed.
