Subject: padding repair

My horse managed to rip the vinyl off the chest pad against the manger and has started chewing on the plywood backer board and the foam padding.  In the short term I'll probably just cover with duct tape to keep it from getting worse.  eventually I'll probably just re-upholster that particular pad (fastened on with screws so will be easy to take off and put new foam and vinyl on.

Any creative ideas for repair other than these?

You have it pretty much figured out for the repair - suggestions from me would be to put an anti-grazing muzzle on the horse to keep him from doing it again to your new pads!

I found some inexpensive trailer pads in the Valley Vet Supply.  24" $6.95, 40" $10.89.
