I just bought an all steel trailer (1993 Sundowner 4h GN). It has rust inside the nose of the Front tack/living area an some water marks on other areas inside.
My Questions:
How do I treat the rust and get rid of it?
Do I need to redo my whole roof? or can I just Caulk from the inside? (this is assuming I can find the actual point of leakage)
What can I do to Insulate the trailer? there was foam squares glued to the ceiling, but some have been removed and CLEARLY there are more that need to be removed due to water damage!
For insulation.... What do I use? Where can I buy it? I want to do this correctly!!
Next Question:
Roof Top A/C unit.... where can I buy one used?? I would rather not spend $600+ on a new one.... but will if that is the best route to go.
*** I live in Missouri and travel out of state a few times a year to trail ride***

Used ac unit - check with www.colawrvsalvage.com in Carthage Missouri ?Phone # 877-548-2125.
?Rust - depends on how bad the rust is, is the metal compromised? rusted through? surface rust can be sanded and painted.. If it rusted very bad it wll require cutting out and replacing metal. ?Insulation - Pink insulation panels are available at any home store, Home depot, etc...

I have a Sundowner trailer. The original caulk last about 5 years. I recaulked with the OEM material. It last about five years. I then used a tape from Eternabond. I'm 7 years now and still leak free.
