We found that our brand new Exiss 7310 3h slant LQ did not have a stud in the wall at the TV stand area where we wanted to install a wall mount for a 24" flat panel LCD/DVD combo. I did not want to have it just sit on the TV stand since it would never stay, have to be packed away and set up each time, blah blah. I searched the web and found RV sites listing the same issues in the forums there. One of those RV sites is where I found multiple RV owners with aluminum RVs who had either mounted a full sized sheet of 3/4" plywood to the wall (when using a wide cross bar type mount) or chose either a 1x6" or 2x4" board stained to match the wood trim (for the 2 hole full motion folding mounts) cut at the angle on top to fit flush to the crown molding and screwed into the top along the ceiling/wall and at the bottom to sit flush on the top of the tv stand. I had bought the one with the two screws/holes and full motion to be able to turn and tilt into the bedroom or down to the sofa area as needed, then fold back to the wall, cover with fleece and secure with a bunggie for travel. What a job but sure am glad I did it! Looks super and does exactly what I needed it to do.

I have an Exiss also, and when we remodeled the inside I wanted a flat screen on the wall. What my hubby did was mount a plate of steel on the aluminum wall bracing between the two, and then attached the swing out bracket on that. We just put longer bolts in the bracket and just cut them off where needed, and finished with the wall covering. Good luck.

Unless the steel plate was electrically isolated from any contact with the aluminum wall, there will be a resulting galvanic corrosion problem. At some point in the future, the aluminum will deteriorate and fail wherever it physically touches the steel.

When two dissimilar metals are used in a common construction, they have to have a coating or membrane between them, so they don't electrically conduct. Without this isolation, the softer of the metals will fail at their juncture(s).
