I have noticed that the roof vent installation kits there are screws instead of rivets. I am getting ready to install a new vent on my aluminum Sundowner. What size and type of screws should I use? I have the putty tape.

I would use  8-32 round head SS screws with locking nuts and skin washers. A one inch length should be adequate,  unless you are going through a structural element. An angle grinder can easily cut the longer screws' tails after they are installed.

I would use 3/16  aluminum pop rivets 5/8 inch long. Look at what the factory used if you get a chance
