Torsion bars suspensions are what GM has used on their 4X4 front ends for the last few decades. Equalizer is a type of hitch so, I am a little lost as to your question.

I think the OP is trying to compare the Equilizer hitch with the Reese hitch with trunnion bars, not torsion bars.I have seen more Reese hitches than Equilizer.
