Has anyone stayed at the Flying W Ranch in PA? If so, are the trails nice?
Camping? Possibly interested in going there if reviews are good.
Thanks. Julie

I have not been back to the Flying W in years. The Ranch is off the beaten path so it would  be important to know if the snackbar and restaraunt were going to be open when you went. The trails are very rocky. The creek crossings are the best part. I don't remember the trail map being very good so be sure to take a GPS and a topo map with you. We had to drive 30 miles to a store to get the topo map.  They had hookups, a show arena, covered stalls, a lodge, and a few cabins. It was worth the trip.

Too crowded for me and the camping is mostly on gravel field with no shade. Trails are nice.

If you are in the area check out Hickory Creek Wilderness Ranch. hickorycreekranch.com  It's a few miles north of Flying W. We like it much better. Nice shady campsites and the trails are great. We'll be going there over long Memorial Day. They have some organized rides if that's your thing (not ours). Over Labor Day last year, they had 2 guys at a campfire doing cowboy poetry and singing one night and there is a large bull riding arena there where there was a country band that was very good the other night.
