Wanted to know if anyone has been and what did they think.  Any pros and cons?  I know they were rated as a 5-star camp by the horse trail directory, but wanted some other opinions.  Planning to visit in mid October and wanted to know how the trails are.  Thanks.

I have rode there since it opened. The trails are a variety, smooth, rocky, steep and flat.  Lots of water crossings and some trails follow the creek, in the creek.  Very nice campground and bath house.  Stalls are not fancy, but adequate.  Ken is a good host and will do all he can to make your stay a pleasant one.

We went to KC last March. The campground is great and the folks who own it are very nice. The trails can be somewhat steep but the scenery is lovely. If they have been getting rain, there will be a lot of water and mud...You should also take the time to visit the Bankhead forest which is 15 minutes down the road. The Pine Torch trailhead is easy to access and the trails are wonderful. There is a river crossing or two and many waterfalls if they have had rain. It would be well worth going over there. You can pick up a map at the forestry service nearby.

Here are some pics from our ride.

Have a great time!
