I've got this wild hair. I've decided I need to build some wooden saddle racks. Nice ones, that I can put in my house and show off my "special" saddles. Where can I find patterns/instructions for building some?

Many wood working magazines have forums and web sites. Often times they include plans for literally thousands of projects. Some time on their web sites might produce what you're looking for.
I have not seen any decorative types (haven't been looking for them) but it wouldn't be difficult to fancy up a basic display model and apply an equestrian motif. With an attractive stain and some finish you would have a nice heirloom.

Here is the info on a wood saddle rack that I make. It is really a nice saddle stand. I have had these plans for awhile so hopefully they are still in buisness. The name of the company is S.W. Huffman Construction INC. 12889 River Rd. Ottumwa Iowa 52501. I also have their phone numbers on my plans. I wasn't sure if I should post them on here or not. You may contact me for them. If have trouble locating the plans, I'm sure I could copy these for you. Good luck !!

I have a pattern from a 1991 issue of Western Horseman. If you pm me I would be happy to scan the article and email it to you. Or..the article is available online but you have to pay for it. :( My son made several of these for me. They are sturdy and not hard to make.

The best racks that I have seen are made from oak and polished then lacered to the nines. I did not make them just wanted to have one ( no sell) have fun post picture when you get is done

I might want me one of those fancy saddle racks. I don't really want any plans, I want a stained, lacquered, polished, wood, saddle rack to go here in the house to display my old Blue Ribbon english show saddle. No one has ridden in it since I lost my leg back in 1994. I can't use it and there ain't nobody else going to ride in it. There are many like it, but this one is MINE!! LOL! Been some might fine flat shod Tennessee Walking horses underneath that saddle from 1972-1994.

I need 6 of these nice racks for my trophy saddles...I'd really like something cedar that has been sanded, polished, laquered, etc........but hubby is NOT a carpenter AT ALL so I get to do it myself. LOL
I've got one I made that is VERY plain, but does the job. I'm just tired of it (it holds 4 saddles).
I PMed the two people above that mentioned having plans. If anyone else has any great plans, please forward them to me (or links to good pictures) mandib99@juno.com

Hi:
I noticed your post regarding a wooden saddle stand pattern.
I would be most grateful if you could scan and e-mail me a copy
of the pattern.
We plan to make a stand for a present for my daughter.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Donna
