I have a solid divider in my 4Star.  I really like the 'jail bar' dividers, but don't want to spend the $$ to buy a whole new divider.  I was thinking about cutting a pattern of 4" holes into it - making sure the edges are smooth of course.  The center panel is thin aluminum and is welded in place.  I am looking to do this because my mare is blind in one eye and it would be a great comfort to her to be able to see her buddy.  She's had a really tough life (starvation/beatings etc), so I want to make her remaining years as stress-free as possible

I think it would improve airflow as well.

Has anyone tried this or have any thoughts on it?

Not a bad idea... I would probably opt for 2" holes and have more of them than the large 4" holes.
