I just purchased a 2004 Kiefer Built 3-S ;3 horse Slant Trailer.
The Rear Tack door latch will not open. The Loading door latch works fine.
I'm afraid to force the latch to the point I might break it.
Am I missing something here on opening this latch? Is there some sort of release inside the loading door or is this thing just really frozen up?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or information.

Mike

Kiefer used 2 different latches then. 1 that used a padlock to lock, the other a black (or silver or white assembly from Bauer) with a key. If that one, there are spring loaded balls that get rusty and stick. Especially if they sit, or worse see road salt. If that's what you have, spray in the seems liberally with penetrating oil and let sit. Pull top as you push bottom. It is cast aluminum and can break, but replacements easy to get (but will be black).
