I've decided to add a  16ft Dometic 9100 Powered Awning to my trailer and the only thing I'm not sure on is how to deal with the approx 3/8 aluminum lip of the cornice piece that transitions the roof to the trailer side. There is an awning rail where you slide the fabric end in the middle of the cornice 2-3" above the cornice lip(3/8). For the dealers or others on this forum....can I buy a spacer to fit behind the awning arms/hardware so the hardware clears the cornice lip. Hope I'm using the right terms and haven't confused the issue.

Thanks for any help and tips for a DIY project.

The last awning I installed I just made my own spacer out of a piece of aluminum.
