I have a nail in one of my tires so I took it off today to take it for a patch.

My question is:

How much drag should be present when you spin the drum?  When spinning the drum should the drum spin freely?

To inspect the shoes I see that I need to remove the dust cap and then follow the instructions on the Dexter sites instructions.

So my next question is:

There is a small amount of thick greenish liquid in the area under the dust cap.

How much is normal? (I have about a teaspoon)  I have yet to remove the other wheels but will once I get back with the patched tire tomorrow to compare.

I had my tire patched while there I asked the mechanic "his" opinin of the drum adjustment.

He said at least a full spin to a spin and a half, should be good.

So I will go with that.
