My trailer currently has the old fashioned flip over latches that require a padlock on the doors.  My friend just got a new trailers that had what I think are called locking cam bar latches?  You see them on most newer trailers.  I am thinking about adding these as we spend a lot of time looking for lost padlocks.  Anyone done this?  Is it and easy change?  If I did this would it be possible to change the lock cylinder on the camper doors so one key fit the entire trailer?

There are locking latches but they may not completely cover the holes from the traditional hasp. We've used a backing plate (either aluminum skin or a piece of tread plate) when we install them. I have them available but as far as I know they cannot be keyed to match your trailer key. You can contact me by private message for more info.Risa at Trailers America
