I'm new at this forum and I posted a "poll" instead of reg. question earlier.  I apologize for my new user error.  I'm interested in find out opinions of the best made 3H LQ trailers.  Previously, I have preferred Sooner & Sundowner, but have heard other trailers may be better now days.  Is Shadow manufactured by same person who used to manufacture Sundowner?

As I understand, the engineer for Silverstar owns Shadow. It's a nice trailer...

Would be interested in 10' LQ - no more, maybe a 8' if laid out nicely.  Dinette or couch - no 70s throw back prints.  Do not want model with sink next to bed.  Must have separate toiled and shower.  Prefer double kitchen sink and large frigerator w/freezer.  Do either of them meet these so far?

Thanks

hi there, I have a 2002 Sundowner custom Trailblazer III that was used for 10 trips before purchasing a farm and not showing or travelling since. It's actually a 4 horse with 10' LQ, double basin sink away from bed as you stated, toliet and shower separate but in teh same room (no toliet in the shower), 5' midtack, ramp, camera system, comfort stall under mat padding, all the options, awning, outdoor waterproof speakers, R-V-Q BBQ grill for attachment outside to cookout, stove, large size fridge and freezer, ac and heat, day/night shades, the print on the couch is the sundown design, modest colors with just running horses, nothing too dated at all. microwave, tv, vcr, stereo and more....does this fit what you are looking for? I just dropped the price $7000 b/c I have to get it sold to pay vet bills on 2 sick horses ASAP. let me know if you have questions! ~rebecca
ps-the couch folds into a 2nd bed and has a removable table for in front of it too. also it has a stud divider for between stalls 1 and 2 so you can stack shavings, hay, straw, baggage, bikes or anything for camping or travelling in this 'extra' space if you only need 3 stalls :) that's what i used it for :)

Rebecca,

Your trailer would be too big for me.  Sorry, it otherwise sounds perfect.

do you mean as far as the length or turning radius? since i ordered it custom i actually had the engineering group at sundowner move the axles forward to improve the turning radius greatly and also to take more weight onto the 2 axles instead of the tongue, because of that of course i upgraded to the heavier axles as well. that's too bad, i thought maybe we had a match for seller/buyer with everything you listed :)

I have a Bloomer 3 Horse with a 10' LQ, like new.  It has the large frig, sofa/bed, ducted heat and AC, queen bed in neck, microwave and 2 burner stove w/cover.  Complete bathroom: angle shower, toilet and sink.  Door thru to 1st stall.  Drop downs on both sides with hay rack.  Rear tack and on board generator.  We are no longer going with horses and need to purchase a stock trailer w/LQ to haul bulls.  If interested please give a call @ 636-456-0556 or email at hay_burners@yahoo.com.

When did it become ok to start posting "trailer wanted" and "trailer for sale" ads in the discussion area?

It's not OK to post wanted or for sale ads here. I changed the title of this thread to reflect the question frbo_jb asked. frbo_jb, I would like to welcome you to the board. There is a lot of knowledge and experience on here free for the asking. You can also from the home page send a request out to dealers on this site if you are looking for a particular trailer. For sale ads need to be paid for, but once you pay for an ad, you can put a link to it in your signature. Again, welcome to the boards!

I would definitely check out the Blue Ribbon trailers. A quality trailer with many extras as standard options. Many of them have Sierra interiors with all the bells & whistles or just a simple LQ.

Depends on how much you want to spend, how far you want to drive for service/warrenty, how long you plan to keep it, and how many miles you use it. To me, the Harts, Cimmarron, Bloomer, Elites are top of the line, but can be more $ than some of the others mentioned...if you drive like you stole it and put a lot miles on one (like my wife does), or if you just make a few trips a year is a big factor in which brand you will be happy with. I would list what is important to you, than do you homework. I would say, with Lqs, warrenty work does come into play way more than a standard trailer due to Murphey's law.
