They have a wood floor in them. At least the one I'm getting has wood.
American Spirit trailers are made in northeren Indiana. There is a gentlman on this forum that has been in their factory. He is quite impressed with them, or at least that is my feeling, and he doesn't own one.
If you do a search (at top of this page "search") on American Spirit trailers you can bring up past posts on these trailers. Even a note from the owners.
I have a 3h 12ft sw ordered. Its about 5 weeks from being finished.

I would be the gentleman he's speaking of that's been to their factory. I own a 1999 Bison, which isn't too bad as it pre-dates the sell out. American Spirit is built in Syracuse, IN and 90% of the people building and designing them worked for Bison before internal turmoils caused by the buyout. The main people I know from American Spirit are Thames Goon and Taylor Goon. Thames is president of the company and Taylor is the engineer. Thames was General Manager of Bison until shortly after Tim Dugle sold the company, and then started AS trailers. They are very customer oriented. As for their floor, it is wood. But unlike most steel framed trailers, they do not use angle iron for support. When I visited they were using 1"or2" x 6" box tube. This gives a wider support area, as well as being more structualy sound. You should take a trip up to their facility and watch them build some, and Thames invites any questions one might have. If you'd like their phone number let me know. And by the way, I will own one if I ever get out of debt again!

And Taylor knows how to ride a wheelie in a golfcart at Congress. Must be a durability test. But I'll give him 2 extra points for bringing me a pecan roll at the entrance.

I talked to Thames and Taylor at the HHF. They are very nice people. I mentioned I had seen your posts on here, efaubert1, and Thames knew who I was talking about. By the way, this "he" is a "she"!
Hope this info helps you decide on a trailer. There were alot of people looking at them at the HHF. I think Brians (dealer I bought one through) sold quite a few.

My bad, sorry for the gender misconception there. I really like the 3 horse bumper pull they had on Display. You didn't happen to be the lady that Thames was sitting at the table finishing up paperwork with on Sunday were you?

No, it wasn't me. I had ordered my at the dealers at the first of March. I picked out the interior at the HHF. Met the people that do the conversions also. Nice people, too.
I was around there quite abit though, as I had only seen one 3h with LQ before the HHF. It was the one on the lot and it had sold, so thats the only time I saw one. They hadn't gotten another before the fair. So I was there pouring over them. I was talking them up qiute a bit, Thames said he would have to put me on the payroll.

Grizzly2k1, the number for AS is 574-457-5510. Just ask for Thames Goon, and I'm sure he'll gladly answer anyquestions you have. Tell him Ed in Tipton said hello.

Sorry Ed but I think you might have looked at the wrong thing. But just so everybody knows our floor is a pressure treated wood floor that sits on 1 1/2"x3"x1 1/2"(6' & 7' Wide) or 2"x3"x2"(8' Wide) Formed "C" channels that are formed out of 11GA. sheet steel which is .120" thick. Then the crossmembers are phosphate washed, primed, painted, and undercoated to ensure a good protection on the steel frame. Plus If you don't like the wood floor you can option in a Rumber floor. If you are not familiar with Rumber flooring visit http://www.rumber.com/ and prepared to be amazed. Not only does it not absorb any water or urine it comes with a 20yr. warranty in our trailers. So when it comes time to clean your floor off, you no longer have to remove the rubber mats to do so. Just hose or broom it out.
As for inIndiana I am almost sure that if she spent one more day there we could have sold you another trailer
Mr. Truck, can you believe all we have had to do is replace the front steering bars since then, boy does that golf cart take a beating. This winter it pulled all the sleds like a dream too.
Well sorry about the long post but I just wanted to say hi to every one seeing how it has been so long since I have been able to get on here. Seems that everybody wants a trailer right now Everybody have a good day and just let me know if there is anything else you would like to know.
Sincerely,
Taylor Goon
P.S. If you would like to see a picture of one of our trailers with a Rumber floor in it here you go. It also has the insulated and lined roof option on it that really cleans the interior up a bunch.

Thanks for clarifying the floor construction Taylor. It's been awhile since I was there and apparently my memory is failing. By the way, thanks for the phone number the other day.

American Spirit also builds trailers with a "RUMBER" floor. This product is recycled tries, ground up, extruded to become a tounge and groove 2X8. Which replaces the wood totally. It has a 20 year guarantee, and you don't need to use mats over it. I'm pulling one now, and I'm also in sales for them. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me, or for a dealer near you.

Good advertisement. Is there anyone I can talk to at American Spirit about advertising with us and providing our clients with a link in our "Trailer Company" directory? Thanks.
