I have been reading this site since June when I stumbled across it while I was searching for a trailer to purchase and selling my trailer. I have always had my truck and trailer serviced on a regular basis,AAA,insurance and never thought too much about it. I just trusted that everything was okay when they said it was. After reading all of these threads, I realize that now I know just enough to be worried. Many times I have no clue what is being discussed; batteries, welds, inverters, tire sizes, weight of trailer for truck, extenders, etc.

After enjoying years of ignorance, I can assure it is beyond bliss. Ranks right up there with having no responsibility or accountability. Kinda like an endless supply of fresh roping steers with no entry fee. Enjoy it while you can.

I think(but am pretty sure) that most things tend to get a little overblown when they are being discussed on the internet. There is a show on TV that is dedicated to disproving theese so called Urban Legends, so most things that I read on the net I take with at least a half grain of salt, somethings I read require a little "pure grain" if you know what I mean. You have to realize that we are all working in cognito so what we say, we may know something about, or we may have stayed at a Holiday Inn last night. One thing about a forum though is there are enough people out there with knowledge and doubt to get the truth out to thoose uninformed folks who are just trying to learn. So enjoy the time you spend in here just don't get so caught up in the Urban Legends.

All trailers are designed with the Liability in mind.

I have met bad Horses and bad Owners.

Don't forget the Beer.

I wouldn't get too worked up. there are always some very anal people who have to weigh everything and do the math before they would consider leaving the yard. Don't worry. you can only do so much. Just enjoy your horses.

Absolutely! I wanted to share a cute photo, didn't do it quite right but got the picture into the "Albums" button at the top of this screen - click it and look for photo of Mexican Roundup Horse - note the reins thru window! (showed this to my horse - he didn't get the humor) :)

Why is it, it seems, that conscientious horse owners are the ones whose horses get hurt in their well-kept horse trailers, while those being in hauled in something held together by duct tape don't?

One thing for sure....if you ask a question you get a lot of opinions. If you don't know what something is,don't be afraid to ask.

REMEMBER THE ONLY STUPID QUESTION IS THE ONE NOT ASKED.

Could it be that some folk really don't know WHAT they're doing, but DO try to make it "look good".
Others may not have money, DO know what they're doing, but don't care a rodent's tail about how it looks ?
Duct Tape - It's what holds America together.

Yes, there are those who look good, but don't know what they're doing.  Then there are those who don't look good, but know what they're doing and just don't care.  BUT, then there are those who are accidents waiting to happen but never do!

DUCT tape - the equipment of champions!  Coming from a gal that uses a leg wrap for a tie down!!
