We live in Southern Illinois and would like to meet some friends from East Texas somewhere in between.  I searched online and found a place in Northern Arkansas called Tall Pine Resort - has anyone been there?  We would need a place with cabins & stalls, so we're kind of limited.  I also saw a place called Village Creek State Park that looks okay too.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We have been there before. The owner Debra is very nice and accomodating. There is some riding out of there, but to get to the good trails, you will have to trailer out. Her cabins are really nice. She also sells saddles. We bought two while we were there. Debra is a hoot and tons of fun. I don't think you will regret going there. Debbie

Pine Grove trails are great. Beautiful scenery and nice campground. You shouldn't have any troublbe getting in there. We pull a big 4 horse LQ and had no problems. There are probably 3 days riding there.  There are some other campgrounds not too far away if you wanted to do more riding in the area. We are thinking about maybe going there a few days and then maybe to a new place called Falling Waters. Anyone stayed there?

Tall Pines is near Norfolk Lake, not far from the dam.Village Creek is to the southeast of there, about 2 1/2 hours away.Village Creek is near Wynne,AR and is about 1 hour from Memphis. It is on Crowley's Ridge and has about 23 miles of nice wooded easy trails and a wonderful horse/RV camp with covered stalls and full hookups.Tall Pines has 2 cabins, and there is not much room for any large trailers or hookups there.SHe has pens,I think, instead of stalls unless she has built stalls in the last couple of yrs.The cabins at Village Creek are not at the horse camp but on the way to it.

Sun am - just left Falling Waters Horse Camp. We had great rides - beautiful scenery. Campground is small but nice. There are also a couple of cabins the owners rent. Planning to go back in the Spring and stay for a week.

It looks like both Falling Waters and Pine Grove are both nice places. We will maybe do a trip to both to get enough riding for a week or more.

And stop at Buffalo River Ranch on the way for a few days or more. We have been wanting to ride more of AR. and this sounds like a nice way to do it! Now I can't wait for Spring and it is not even officially winter yet.

Just so you'll know in case you don't already:some of those roads to those camps will have ya looking at the back of your head on the curves,so,be careful.

We have a Sundowner w/ 16 ft living quarters and pull with a freightliner - plenty of room in campground. Some sites have both water and electricity.
You will need to get maps from the owners - trails were pretty well marked. We rode 19 miles the first day to Twin Falls and about 12 miles the 2nd day to Box Canyon. We are planning a week long trip in the spring. Lots of water and water falls. Very pretty and enough riding for several days. They bring firewood but there is no ice at the campground and no cell service in camp. Looked like sites were 1st come, 1st serve. You can picket, some used electric fence and others used the wooden corral pens.

Thanks for the info on Falling Waters. I think we may try to go to Pine Grove and then Falling Waters for a few days this spring also. There's lots of beautiful places in Arkansas to ride. Don't know why we haven't ridden more down there.

You can picket, use electric fence and others used the wooden corral pens provided by Falling Waters. The camping fee is $20 and that includes your campsite and 2 wooden corral pens.
