Ok folks going to upgrade to larger lq 4 horse trailer would like to know what you recommend as far as good quality, manufacture, ect, trailer, we are in Florida want something that will hold up very good, for the money they coast.  You all have been very help full in doing my conversion, and I feel you all have more experience in horse trailers than I do.  I would appreciate any and all input

, you al are saying that the Exiss Sport models aren't that good and the trail Rider is in rough shape, and there is a lot of different manufacturers out there and I just what some input from people that know more about the different trailer than I do I have looked up some of there web sites and that is with in 500 to 600 miles away from me,  I am looking for the best buy that I can find from 30,000 to 40,000 Alum trailer, with padded dividers insulted horse area, drop down windows, and a decent living quarters

Whenever I buy something, if there is a "heavy duty" option, I purchase it. I favour a singular long term ownership instead of constant replacements. It is less expensive and very rewarding.

Exiss is one brand I highly favour. It took a long time to find our present trailer and I couldn't be more pleased. 0 problems, absolute reliability, excellent performance, many quality designs and materials. Once again, the heavy duty version was chosen because of my habits.

I don't usually recommend the lighter built trailers, again my personal opinion. BUT, there are some considerations that should be made. Reliability. In spite of the thousands made over several years, I have never read any posting of an Exiss "Sport" owner, that has had a problem with his trailer. Price. The "Sport" LQs are some of the most reasonably priced aluminum units with a moderate LQ construction. The Exiss trailers are all aluminum, which may or may not be a plus factor based on your area. Durability. I don't believe the "Sport" models, will with stand the rigorous constant usage, a professional horseman would subject it to. For a hobbyist, weekend warrior, or non-BLM road user, it is apparently has been doing it's job well for several years.

Exiss has made over fifty thousand horse trailers. Not all are perfect, but the company has proven in this forum, that it will go to great lengths to back up its products, many years after its construction. There are constant accolades by pleased Exiss owners, that illustrate the favour this brand has in the industry.

There are nay sayers of this manufacturer, just as there are of any other product ever made. The most vocal of them, are friends of friends, who don't own an Exiss, and believe an astronaut is still standing on the moon. Their opinions have little relevance to the many Exiss owners, who continually enjoy their trailers.

I still favour the Event models, but would recommend a Sport to an apropos horse owner.

Just did another used trailer search based on your requirements. Without knowing your zip code for distance, and using a $30k-$40k price, LQ, and 4H search parameters, I found 220 trailers. The list contained every major name brand, throughout the US. Many were located in the southern and western states. You have a smorgasbord from which to choose.

I would recommend choosing the ones that interest you the most, and then ask for particulars and opinions about them.

Check out The Elite trailers in the Mustang model, they have an 8.8 LQ in 3 and 4 horse and a Nice LQ package and most I have seen for new ones are around 35 to 40's!

You did not list that you was going to have a trade in either!  Most places more than likely are not going to give you what you want on trade.  Same as trading in a vehicle, all just a paper and number game.  Sure they will give something for it, but you can not expect to take them down on the price then throw in a trade afterwards.

Unless you have something like mine,(04 Sundowner 8010 Signature Series 3 hores loaded that I have well under 30-k invested in and a trade in or loan value of over 40-k) I bought it cheap and now after going to different shows around I have 2 or 3 dealers that are begging me to trade it in on a new trailer and allowing me 40-k trade in!  But I would want the same equipment as I have now and a new trailer is going to be well over 60-k, so my thinking is I have a really nice trailer that me and the better half love and will be paid off in 3 years vs having a new trailer and still be paying on it in 3 years.

Bottom line is most dealers will work with you, but I would be upfront and tell them you will have a trade and you are not interested in playing number games!  You just want the best deal you can get!

But how was the price on the trailer you are looking at?  When or if I trade for a truck I let the people know first off I really do not want to mess with trade just for the fact that is something else I have to sell before I make any money!

Sure they may get a better offer down the road on their truck, but I can garranty you they will NOT get a better price on the same type truck! (even after a trade in)  Most people do not understand the paper and number games, but after I put a pencil and paper to the numbers of my truck and the one that they was offered more on trade, my truck is still cheaper!  Same thing goes with horse trailers, ask any dealer around!   Sure some are going to tell you oh' "we don't do that"  And that is BS!  They all do it!
