Hi all, I just picked up a used Logan 3 horse bumper pull in January and I was looking at the tire and realize that they don't all match. The lady I purchased the trailer from told me this but I had forgotten that she said this to me.  But what concerns me the most is that 2 of the 4 tires are Carlisle’s and the other two are only P-rated. I will be traveling from SoCal to phoenix this weekend and want to get all the tires changed out before I leave. Can anyone steer me in the direction of a good tire for my trailer. I promise that I at least did a search about this before posting, but only found threads about 16” tires

The tire sizes are 225/75R15 with a load range of D, the trailer has an approximate GVWR of 7500lbs.

I wouldn't go too far away from home with that tire combination. A LT truck tire available in many brands, upgraded to an E range would serve you well

I haven't found many E rated 15 inch trailer tires. Denman and Maxxis is about it. Also, if you have the same 15" wheels that I have on my Logan, the wheels are only rated 75 psi. You need to inflate E rated tires to 80 psi.

Mine only have 3500lbs axels; it’s a 94 ranger III. I figured that the D load range would be ok for mine, how are the Denman tire? I got home a little while ago and looked a little better at the tire, I have 2 Denman Express S/T steel radial, 2 Goodyear tracker, and 1 Carlisle.

They lady I bought the trailer from used it as her hay trailer she has to brand new one. She was only selling it because it had a large dent in the right front running board and didn’t want it anymore.

Denmans are good tires. Pretty reasonable in price, too. They can be hard to find, though.

That trailer probably came with 5 Denmans when it was new. Three of the five have probably blown or come apart.

It may have come with five Carlisles and four of them have gone bad in the past.

What ever you do, stay away from these el-cheapo Chinese made tires... Carlisle, Load Star, American Trail, even some of the Denmans are now made in China (most are made in Mexico). Spend the extra "dough: and buy a name brand "LT" or "ST" tire in the appropriate size and weight rating.

I just replaced the tires on my 4h bp and I went with the ST275-75R-15's and an E load range...The tires are Carlisle. I have ran this brand on both my trailers and I have never had a problem with them....

Our Logan came with Goodyears. It's a few years newer, though.

Sometimes I wonder if Carlisles get a bad rap because there are way more of them on the road than other brands, and hence more "Carlisle blowout" stories.

Where are Carlisles made these days?

En'tire'ly possible, the internet also has the ability of making things seem worse than they are.

I am with Retento on this. I Haven't had a problem with any Goodyears on my trailers, and if you do have to buy a new tire on the road, they are easy to find.

The original tires on my stock trailer were Goodyears. Excellent wear, no sidewall cracking, very pleased with the product

Thanks everyone, I will probably be getting 5 Goodyear Marathons and also buys all new wheels too. I just want to make sure nothing is going to on my trip.
