I currently have a Mr. Buddy heater, and have had problems getting it started when its a little colder ( 30 deg. ) I was wondering if anyone has used a different type of heater that seems to work well. It needs to be safe for indoor use, we camp in our horse trailer! I've been on the coleman site and have seen a few that seem to be interesting.

We have a ceramic heater I got at WalMart. It has a fan and thermostat, goes off and on by itself. Which I like, the last one I had I would have to turn off when it got warm enough then when I got cold turn it back on. Was a pain. Really happy with this one and really heats the place up. It cost about $25.

We use an oil-filled radiator heater by Honeywell. It is very quiet (no fan noise) and really heats up our 15 foot short wall LQ. We have ducted heat, but prefer to use this quiet heater when AC is available. It never needs refilling and it has several settings to choose from depending on how cold it is outside. There are two sizes to chose from too. We use the smaller one and it stores easily in a closet. They should be on sale now since this awful winter is about over. WooHoo! Happy trails.

I'm going to get a Zodi tent heater. It is a propane heater with a blower. I'm going to cut a hole to run the duct into the trailer and get the adaptor so I can use it with my big propane tank instead of the disposable ones. That way I can set it up outside the trailer and not worry about the carbon monoxide.

I have a ceramic heater from Walmart also. I love it!! I can set it to turn on and off and go to bed without worrying about getting too cold or too hot or carbon monoxide!!! My husband steals it and uses it in our garage during the winter.(thats were we make him smoke his nasty cigarettes)LOL!!
If you have the convenience of electricity I highly recommend the Ceramic Heater!!

I have a Buddy heater that I have been using for 4 years now. I did notice that using the striker when its cold is hard to start. I start it with lighter.

Has anyone seen or used the mounted Reddy Heaters. We camp at a lot of parks that don't have electricity. I found this heater for around 139.00 but I don't have the link with me.
Here is a site with the one I had in mind and it works with a 20 pound tank.

I have a similar one (natural gas) in my sun room. If you read the instructions it says not to operate in a small area because it will use all the oxygen. I can't remember what size it is I'd have to look it up again. Our sun room is 580 sqft and it has a dog door in constant use and very drafty old windows so we have a fair bit of circulation.

Some of these are not for small areas but I thought this one was for small areas. (cabins, shanies, blinds) What would the difference be between this and a Big Buddy for ventilation?

A friend of mine redone an older 4 horse face to face with 12' living quarters. He purchased a wall heater like what you are looking at with an oxygen sensor built in. It was $99.00 at the hardware store and had 2 settings. Never had a problem with it. I would get a separate oxygen sensor alarm installed as a backup though.

You may want to think about installing a Wave Heater. It's safe to use in enclosed areas, run on propane, does not need a power source and does not cost much. You can get them from Camping World and they also install them. Good luck!
