Financial situation forces me to sell my LQ trailer, which I got to enjoy for one whole season. Sigh. Could be worse. Rather get rid of the trailer than the horses.
Instead of going back to tent camping, I'm thinking I might be fine just roughing it in the dressing room of my 2 horse straight load. It's a fair sized and all I really need in there is room for my cot, for my dog, and my porta potty (plan would be to transfer tack to the horse area while I camped.
Only thing is I would definitely want a screen door on there so I could get as much air flow as possible. Is this a pretty straight forward thing to do? Wondering if it is something I could do myself (with the help of handy guy friend or 2) relatively inexpensively.
FYI, trailer is a 2004 Merhow 2H straight load bumper pull.

I bought a roll of screen and made a drop down screen door. It hangs rolled up above the door and I just unroll it when needed and have velcro in a couople of spots on the sides. I couldn't find an aftermarket screen door except a retractable one.

I have the retractable screen door (pocket style) and am very happy with it. A friend that had a Sundowner wanted to add a screen door and she also had to buy a whole new door - very pricey option.
the ones posted look like they would work good as well.

I bought a screen curtain at Wal Mart. $12.50 and works great! It comes with stick on velcro and also a spring loaded curtain rod. I used the rod, and put it in the trim around my door. Also used one for my walk thru door, and two more over the back door of my trailer when I am camping, as I use the horse area for my tack room. I use the velcro for the back doors and hang two side by side.

Just got back from a camping trip this weekend. Decided I needed some kind of doggy door and discovered this thread this morning!! I'm going to try one of these - they look like just what I need. Isn't HTW a great resource?

I am another fan of the retractable pocket door style screen door. I think I prefer it to the ones with the screen door as a middle door. you dont have to wrestle with it to get in and out!

I have a simple screen on my trailer made by Hold Your Horses. It has worked well for several years now and is less than $40. It rolls up out of the way when not needed, and has a weighted bottom to keep it in place when in use. I worried about it working well, but I've been very happy with it. I bought it from Long Riders Gear, but it may be available elsewhere.

I just purchased a magnetic screen door from Four Corners.com. It has magnets that go down the center and automatically close the screen after you go thru it. They were $11.99 + shipping. Here is the link: http://www.fourcorners.com/product_details_Magnetic_Bug_Screen.aspx
