Hubby saw his first double slide trailer at a show last weekend. Parkland had one with the slides directly opposite of each other. We really like the room it gives you. Anybody here have one? Any problems with it? Since it is a huge investment, we would like to get as much info as I can before makng a decision.

Feel free to post or email if any of your local dealers have a double slider on their lots. I think I would like to see as many as possible.

No, the double slide was in a Bloomer. I have seen double slides before at the Congress and the AQHA World Show, but this was my hubby's first time of seeing them. I do like the extra room in the LQ, but I really only need a 3H. And to get a full escape door, engineering says we need a 4H or a reverse load with extra footage added to the back of the trailer. Since we are avid trailriders, getting too long of a rig to get into the good riding camps may become an issue.

Whatever trailer you choose; make sure that they have plenty of experience and knowledge of building trailers with striuctural integrity.  If the slides are directly across from each other; it would make me think that the trailer might not have enough strength to support the same openings directly in the same spot on each wall.  I know that Sundowner builds a double slide in a 18' short wall that has the slides staggered; to make sure they have plenty of wall strength.  In a 3h; this would give you about a 32' of box length.  The double slide DOES make for a huge amount of floor space and the ability to have some options on what kind of furniture you put on those slides.  Sundowners slides are hydraulic, and are enclosed under the trailer to keep road debris and dirt from their drive systems.  Good luck with your selection.

Brusycreek, you are right, and that can really be an issue especially camping on some of the remote backwoods areas of Arkansas that are SO nice to ride in.Ours is 27' on the floor, and is almost too long a trailer to suit me! I do enjoy the room in it immensely, however.

I have a double slide Integrity that  is a 4 Horse that is listed on Horse Trailer World... The Slides directly opposite of each..  The owner loves the room the trailer has...  It has a 21' shortwall..  With lots of extra... Please let me know if I can help you in anyway...

Thanks

I live about 20 miles north of Crockett and I got to see the inside of that trailer. It is sooooooooooo pretty, but way to big for me, size wise and price wise. I can dream tho.

Thanls longears, but I looked at the trailer on their website. It looks to have bunks which I do not need. I really think I want the breakfast bar instead of a dinette in the next trailer. I saw on another post that you have a Cimarron. I have looked at a Cimarron with a slide. There is one I have been in already that I like. I just don't know much about them other than they are a spin off of a Hart.

Who is it, that builds a slide, that rolls out like it's on a set of drawer rollers? No electrical attenuators, no hydraulics, no motors, gears, no nothin'. Just unlatch the thing and pull it out by hand like pulling open a drawer! Keepin' it simple!!

Shadow Trailers makes a slide-out which uses no motors or hydraulics. The slide is 6' or 8' long, and works with a simple lever that is released to pull the slide in. Also keeps the trailer light in weight. Here's an example of a double-slide. The slide is above the frame of the trailer, so the structural integrity of the unit is not compromised.

I wasent sure what you ment by a full escape door but we recently ordered and did a conversion in a 3 horse slant Integrity with an escape door with a manger in it.  So what I am getting at is that it can be done.  Also the horses faced the curb side instead of the street side.
