Now its time to see just how deep the mud will get. We have had highs in the high 20s last week. It is supposed to get in the high 60s by the end of this next week. I can only imagine how deep the mud will get. At least we aren't busting ice. I'm sure it will test the limit of the 4x4 to get back and check the calves though.

I spent the first 25 years of my life in MN and you're right ...... it is damn cold there
Then I spent 4 years in Minot ND ...... nothing prepared me for that....wind chill like you wouldn't believe and "winter" takes up 6 months all my itself.
Buy that tank heater Hank.....you may be fat and need exercise but your horses will be happy and drink more water.

don't laugh but I haul 20 gal. of hot water from my bathtub for the horses every morning. 2 of the young ones are very mouthy and I'm paranoid about them playing w/ a tank heater and getting electrocuted or something...
