Just checking on ideas of how others have used their third stall for storage. I was considering putting up a rack to hang my lawn chairs up on, portable shelving, or adding a rack for hanging bridles, halters etc. Looking for ideas that can be taken back out or up high enough that the third stall can still be used if needed but kinda doubtful.

We have a modular hanger in the front stall of our trailers on the rump side. It is probably 36" long and you can add or hangers and hooks, it came from a big box hardware store. They all come out if you were to haul a horse and I don't believe a horse could get hurt on it, it is pretty smooth. I mounted the module with self tapping screws. I will try to get a picture. I hang the muck bucket cart or chairs or hay bags and my broom and fork.

Many types of hooks and brackets can be installed on the wall near the ceiling over the horse's butt. Many hanging items can then be hung from them, including shoe cubbies, which work well holding many appearance and health items in a single roll. Bridle racks and tack pegs can also share this area. One of our trailers has the racks and a cowboy shower in the same area.
By mounting permanent brackets within this area, anything hung from them can be removed if you need to use the stall for transporting a horse. The high mountings are above the horse and the chances of an injury because of them is slight.
I made some some hooks by cutting horse shoes in half, welding them at the bottom, and screwing them to a board. They work well for non leather products. Rounded bridle racks are better for the leather tack. Using plastic pipe cut to short lengths, and faced with a small rounded piece of plywood, makes an inexpensive and good looking rack that will not harm the tack.
Hardware, kitchen centers and big box stores, have innumerable types of metal racks and brackets, that can be installed on the bulkhead. Gardening wall clips are handy for brooms, muck forks and holding foldable wheel barrows. Anything that can be hung, hoses, extension cords, bags etc., frees up the floor space they would normally use.
Lay out the things you want to carry with you, and design their placement and types of brackets needed accordingly. You will be surprised at how much volume of storage the wall can provide.

Swing out blanket bars in corner (to dry wet saddle pads or coolers while camping. can be folded flat against wall if a horse will be in the stall) Low profile blanket bar on ceiling (to hang anything... wet coats to dry while camping, etc) Hang Jiffy Jack from hooks near ceiling Tack rack near ceiling (I keep all my saddle bags up there) I keep a muck bucket, portable toilet, small tool box, hay and firewood in the front stall. Muck fork and broom are hung on the wall in the rear tack. I also thought about hanging garage hooks up near the ceiling to hang folding chairs and a rolled up mat for under the awning.

I have "E" track (2 levels) installed 0n my third stall/lq wall and on the butt side of that stall. I have some removable clamps with a ring on them. I can move them where ever I need and attach bungie cords to keep all my camping supplies in place. I can remove just what I need without disturbing the rest. This works GREAT and if I need to use the stall for a horse, I can just remove the clamps and the track itself is pretty much flush against the wall. The only real chance for any kind of injury is maybe pulling a few tail hairs if they rub. This was very inexpensive to do.

I built a false manger in my third stall. open the third door--from the outside and i stack my lawn chairs on end in that place, then built a small shelf then lay my 200 ft extend cords in that area, if you look at it from the inside it looks like the rest of the stalls with a manger. we pile our camping stuff/ hay in bags in there when no extra horse.

I have a tack hook installed on the wall in my third stall on the butt side. I also had them add rubber to that entire wall so the things that I hang there do not bang around. I have my fork, broom, extension chords, a folding stool and my rug (hangs in a bag) on that rack. I would love to see pics of the track people are using as I feel I could really use that space even better. I wish the bars across the windows were stronger and I could hang stuff from them but I'm afraid they would bend.

Pictures would certainly be welcome! I'm feeling inspired already.I use this stall for storage all the time - hay, wheelbarrow, rubbermaid tub etc. I'd love it to be even more functional. I don't have a stud wall divider, so always have the concern of packing carefully to ensure nothing slides under the divider. Anyone got an idea for a way to extend the divider to the floor without drilling into and adding a piece? I was contemplating a plywood wall that either drops into a plywood floor, or hinges to it for quick removal when I need the extra horse space.
