I know this has probably been discussed here and there, but wanted to see if anyone had specific experience with Timbren blocks vs Air bags for hauling a heavy Gooseneck trailer.

I have not used the blocks. I did install Firestone Air Bags on the rear axle of my '06 Dodge dually and really like them! I especially like the fact that they are adjustable with the controller on the dashboard.

I have a 2007 Dodge dually...was there a specific model/etc you installed? Also, do you have super duty shocks in addition to these? My trailer REALLY squats my truck, I feel like I need to do something...

Mine is a 2011 Dodge dually and the trailer really squats mine as well. I have the blocks on my ford but they made the ride quite rough without the trailer. The blocks are about 7 years old now and I don't notice the rough ride so much now, probably bc they have worn a bit over the years. I am leaning toward the air bags, but really appreciate hearing from those that have them - good and bad

I had the heavy-duty Ride-Rite setup installed with the compressor and digital readout, in-cab adjustment. My trailer is not that large, but it is long and was squatting the 4x4 Dodge 4-6 inches. It did raise the truck a few inches empty. I am considering putting them on my wife's '07 2wd because it made so much difference in the ride. I don't want to raise the truck too much though. Being able to adjust in the cab is worth the money, depending on your load and the road you are on, changing the pressure up or down a few pounds can help the ride. Overall, I really believe the bags have made the ride much better for the horses and trailer!

Excellent! Thanks for the additional info. I will check into that. Mine is a 2WD '07 and my trailer squats it A.LOT. Makes me nervous, to be honest, when I lower it on the ball...

I put a set of air bags on an 03 F-350 and it made a huge difference. Mine too are ajustable from the cab which is really nice and for not alot more money. I wouldn't hesitate too do it again wish I had done it sooner. Shop around, I bought the bags and in cab control for around $270 and had a mechainc install them for 80 bucks. The dealer installs around me started at $400 (I would pay that if I had too).

We have timbrens and they work great. They are extremely easy to install. You remove the bump stops and bolt them on in the same hole. Once installed, there are no maintenance issues.
