I have a strange problem with my electric. Nothing is working off the battery. When I plug into the electric from the house, the microwave and heating/air conditioning work, lights in the horse area, and the outlets......but NOT the lights or slide out in the LQ.

Assuming the interior lights are 12v, and the slideout mechanism is 12v, it has to be a circuit breaker or fuse somewhere. What type of interior in the trailer?

The slide out is really a slide in/out when it is installed at the factory. If I remember correctly, some of the slide outs use a commercial plug to establish the connection with the electric source. I would guess that the plug had come unplugged and needs to be plugged in. It is definitely a loose connection, whether it's a plug and/or hard wired connection. Get it checked out! It could cause other problems.

I would check the inline fuse May be found from the batteries to the battery on-off switch outside the trailer. May be under a red rubber cap. If I am correct mine is a 50 amp inline fuse block. Kinda the last resort before a disasteous meltdown I figure.
My favorite is to call the LQ company. They are always very helpfull.

I called the LQ company and they seem to think the battery switch is bad. We had a problem with it once before where it wouldn't shut off. So they are sending a new switch. Doesn't quite make sense to me since some things work off the house current but not all of them. Anyway will see what happens when we get the switch changed. I will let you know.
Thanks for all the help.

I know you said you checked the fuses, but Have you checked the main 30 amp fuses? Most folks don't know that they even have the 30 amp fuses. That could be your problem.

You should have a converter box that provides 12 volt dc to your lights which are normally 12 volts. Your 110vac should have a circuit breaker in the trailer that provides a few circuits to the fridge, ac and anything else that uses 110vac. This 110vac should also be wired to a converter that provides 12 volts dc.
Assuming you do have a converter, check the input circuit breaker and also check the output 12 volt dc fuses.
If you dont have a converter, your 12 volt lights are not going to work unless you have a 12 volt battery connected on the trailer or you are plugged into your vehicle and it is wired to your interior light circuit.

Some LQ conversions have a seperate 12v lighting circuit that is only battery powered. If your battery switch is bad as it was suggested, this 12v circuit would not be powered. See what happens when the switch is changed. It might be the cure.
