Hmmm, tried to post this before but it didn't "take."
We have a 1997 4 Star with two drop downs in front and the three buss windows in back. The drop down have the prison bars welded in so either the window is open so the horses can get their heads out, or I have to use a screen which doesn't let enough air in. I've even insulated the roof and added fans. Still gets hot in there - this is Texas I guess.
Anyway, I either want to have bars permanently welded in on the windows themselves so that I can take the screens down, or BETTER, I'd like to have a frame that I can get in or out (screws?) with the bars. Any suggestions? Ideas of what this will cost? Where to go to get it done? Etc. Thanks!

I had a friend that took stainless steel solid tubing and flattened the ends drilled holes in them and mounted them to the inside window frame. Worked pretty good.

The drop down is for when you need to untie the horse before unloading.
It's used to offer water to the horse at stops when traveling long distances.
If I'm at a show and I put the horse in the trailer, I open the bars.
Sometimes at shows or events, horses are tied to the outside of the trailer and the hay net is hung inside. The bars are opened to allow the horse to eat the hay without having to move it from inside to outside.

Which 4 star dealership is closing; specifically? I am in the process of ordering a BP to my specs ...... from the dealership in Willis, I think.. It's called Gulf Coast trailer sales...yes, I ordered drops on both sides, no bars, but window mesh to the butt, and drops and window mesh to the front..you're right.. it's hot as H*ll here in Texas in the summer.... I hope it's not THAT dealership that's closing.. I'm still working on getting enough overtime pay to put down on it to order

No, it's the one in Belton, but it's a part of Gulf Coast. I had hoped that it would develop a full fledged service department, but I have to go to Willis also. Willis has a great service department but it's a long way from here.
