Has anyone been through Deam lake SRA since the tornados went through on March 2nd? By the looks of the storm path, there must be significant damage there. Just wondering if anyone has seen firsthand, and just how bad the damage is.

I haven't been yet, but there are some photos on the Pekin Saddle Club website, and it looks pretty bad. The trails near there and Jackson Rd are closed, but I've heard the south trails around Deam Lake area are open.

If you have a map handy- the Jackson Rd trail is closed along with the Mountain Grove Loop.

You can still ride around Deams Lake and the Dry Fork Loop- but you can't get to the Pekin Saddle Club-- or over towards Clark Forestry at Henryville.

The trees on Mtn Grove Loop are gone-- it will be a hilly field once they get it cleared-- it's so sad.

Claudia, do you know if the north trails at Clark State are open, around the primitive camp? Like Shaw Lake loop?

Everything over by Clark Forest primitive is ok-- including Shaw Loop.  Probably very muddy , but open.

The tornado hit Henryville- but South & East of the forestry.

My husband is riding over by Deams Lake today--I'll let you know if those are ok.

The trails surrounding Deams Lake are ok --

The Jackson Road Trail Head and the Mountain Grove Loop are closed and will be for quite some time--

I rode at Deam Lake today. Did the Dry Fork loop and the blue trail to back around by camp. Those trails were all clear, though we did see several recently cut up trees on the sides of the trails, but not too bad. Footing was good, despite rain yesterday.

Where exactly is the Mountain Grove Loop? I found Jackson Rd. on the map, and have been looking at the Indiana DNR Trails Inventory map. Is this the loop that goes around the area around Pekin Saddle Club?

I can't find my current map, but this outdated map does show the Mtn Grove Loop. (in the middle, across Jackson Rd from Pekin)

Ok, I figured out why I couldn't find it. The DNR Trails Inventory map doesn't show the section between Jackson Road and the eastern part of the Mountain Grove Loop. It doesn't show that section as active, but if you zoom in on the picture (satalite image) you can see the trail. Not sure why its not marked on the map. Did they "close" it?

I've only been to Deam Lake twice, and have not nade it that far. Loved the Dry Fork Loop though!
