Traveling west on I-64 towards St. Louis and need to layover somewhere near Mt. Vernon, IL. There are several lay-up barns but very $$$. Just need room to park a trailer and a place to put horses.

I know there is a horseshow arena in Mt. Vernon but sorry don't know who to contact. Maybe stop at a gas station and ask I'm sure someone can tell you where it is.

Hutchason Longhorn Arena.  9630 N. Goshen Lane, Mt. Vernon, Illinois (618) 244-7711.  Don't know if they board, but I know they have rodeos. You could give it a try.

Great! Thanks all. I am waiting for a callback from the King City Saddle club. If that doesn't work I will try the other suggestions.

They will be hard to catch I imagine.  They don't have someone there everyday during the week.

Fairgrounds are out due to insurance issues. Hutchinson has no place for horses can't use arena. One lay-up place doesn't do it, the other wants $20 a horse. So far I am striking out. :( I thought this would be easy!
