Has anyone subscribed to the US Rider membership that you can get if you're traveling with horses?  If so, have you had to use them and how timely were they?  My friend in Illinois had a flat and called them on Labor Day.  US Rider told them they were trying to find someone to come out on the holiday and help her get the tire chaned, but no one showed up?  Just wondering if it's worth it to pay the yearly premium.

Thanks.

I love USRider! Your friend needs to contact USRide and find out why she was not serviced!

We subscribed to US Rider last year and fortunately have not needed their services. But a couple of our friends have joined and used them. One called on a Holiday weekend from a remote location - it took about an hour for help to arrive, but the other received a quicker response. If you call them, I would like to hear the explanation as our renewal is in April.

The BEST $119 bucks I've ever spent and I haven't even used them for a trailer/horse call.  I recommend putting your membership # and the 800 number somewhere inconspicuous on your truck, trailer, car.  If you're like me, you get into a hurry and lock everything up in the truck/car along with your keys (with the handy dandy little key fob), the cell phone, your card, and purse/billfold.  And if it's on the weekend, you can't call the office for your ID#, 800#.

Then you have to find the nearest internet service and hope Longears is online to shoot you the info!

I use it because they will work with the trailer with livestock.  And if I am with friends in their truck and trailer, it still covers.  A very good investment.  Tell your friend to report the problem, they want to know if the service was in any way lacking... it needs to be told to them, so they won't rely on the contact that was supposed to be coming to help.

Don't Leave Home Without It!!

They'll have some one come out and change a tire, haul your truck and trailer with horses in it to a place of service. They'll even arrange for a place to board your horses if necessary. It's a great bargain when you need it.

Hubby locked him self out of his personal truck Friday... remembered the US Rider card in his wallet.  Called, they were very nice, and had someone sent right out.... then called to ask if he was ok and that his problem was resolved....he was quite pleased!

I switched from AAA to US Rider  2 years ago and never regretted it. On our way back to FL a few months back, we had a blowout about 20 mi. N of Savannah. They located someone to respond (not an easy task. Wreckers/ tire changers (like farriers) are a choosy bunch). It took about 2 hours for someone to respond and the girl from USR called every 20 minutes to check on us. I've, also, used them for my wife's car. They don't have the list of responders that AAA has. I had to pay for a tow myself, but USR sent me a check for the full amount within 2 weeks. If you have horses, AAA will tow the trailer, but your horses are "on their own". BTW, USR will, also, find a place to keep the horses and find a Vet if needed>
