I wanted to buy buy a different trailer with LQ. Being as how I go to some big ropings than can last for a few days and better half goes with me and is very supportive, I wanted to be sure she would be happy with the LQ.
I asked her to list everything she would like in the trailer and give me an idea of the floor plan she would like.
Have to keep in mind that we have to Australian shepards that travel with us so they need at least a 6' mudroom for themselves!!!!
I thought once I had her imput i could start looking for trailers and then we could both go look at what I found.
Problem is, after I found out what she wants, and saw her floor plan, I now realize I'm looking for a trailer with a 38 ft shortwall, 4 slides and 2 mud rooms. One for my muddy boots and clothes and one for the dogs.
Thinking if I get a 4 horse, trailer shouldn't be more than 60 ft long.
Made the first step. bought a full sized highway tractor to pull it!!!!!

What you need is a supply of condos you can rent wherever you travel.
I have a friend who once said she would be purchasing a LQ trailer that she could take to Florida and live in during the winter months. That quickly changed when she slept overnight in our small 13' LQ.

Guess you could buy a moving van and have it converted to a lq trailer. Should almost be long enough. We have a friend that bought one and is going to make his own lq. Just a thought.

Sounds like RollinPonies needs to hook you up with a Blue Moon trailer. Wonder what is in store for the '09's ? On a serious note, I saw a rig that was awesome....dropped deck semi trailer with painted to match tractor....if it is still available I think it was at a dealer in Nashville and it was on this site. Will see if I can find it and post it for you. Could not find it but my dream trailer is

I should apologize. I was being somewhat sarcastic in my previous post. (Although she would like to pull the house sometimes) But she is a understanding and realistic woman. I'm lucky to have her as a travelling partner. I think I want more in the trailer than she does.
We have found a couple 3 horse trailers with finished mud room and suitable floor plan for us. Will still be pulling a trailer that is around 36 ft on the floor. But was serious when I said I have a full sized Peterbilt. I use it to pull all my trailers. Large stock and flatdecks. Can't beat the power and stopping ability.52

I often wondered if someone would build a horse/LQ trailer out of a tractor trailer, trailer. The type used by movers are lower and would require a less steep ramp. The interior room is voluminous. Any sized LQ. almost any number of horses. I don't think used trailers are that expensive, I know farmers that use them for hay wagons. If you have a Peterbuilt, that's the most expensive cost of the rig. You already have your license and trucking experience. 500-600 lb/ft of torque? How about 2500 lb/ft plus?
8' short wall? How about a 40' or 50' wall? Picture windows, separate bedrooms, cathedral ceilings, a loft area, what's your pleasure? Camper door? How about a house door, real beds and furniture? Just a thought. Dream big, it's the same cost.

We saw a moving van converted to a lq trailer at Eminence once.I wish I would have had the nerve to ask for a tour but I didn't. Our friend is doing one these with a slide out, maybe even two slideouts. Purchased the trailer pretty reasonably. He is on this board, he needs to join this discussion. Debbie

I saw a moving van that had been converted a while back. It had a lift on it with a removable stall built on it. They used the lift to get the horses in and out. They said it took lots of training for the horses, but they lived in the trailer and had lots of room.
Anyone else have this problem?
