I am wanting to take my trailer to a friend who I want to build some bunks for the kids for me.  I have just a 4 ft short wall and want to have them built on the slant.  JNJ used to have a real cute plan on their picture show - now it isn't there... I need some pictures to show him to give him some ideas!!!!  :)

ANY HELP is so much APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!

See the two fold down bunks that folded up against the wall.  These are in a Logan trailer

Interesting.  Do they have webbing on them?

How are the bunks supported and what is that up against the water tank?

I don't own one of these trailers. I've just seen them at horse shows.

The bunks just fold down and have some cables that hold them at 90* from the wall.

Yes they are just webbing. I suspect you would place a foam pad on the webbing or an air mattress over the webs.

It's an adjustable saddle rack in front of the water tank.

The red is a muck fork hanging on the wall and the green is a hose for the water tank. They come standard in Logan trailers.

Thanks. I've been thinking up ways to build those all night. My husband want's to start camping with me and the kids and "someone" won't fit on the bed. Mayby after a few trips I'll finagale a bigger trailer! Ahhh. Sweet dreams.

I added a folding bunk above a fixed bunk in my trailer for the kids.  I framed it out of 1x6 oak with 1x2 supports every 8 inches at the bottom edge of the 1x6 so there is a 4" lip all around to hold the matress in.  Used good long wood screws (deck screws)  to attach it together, then use a piece of 1/2 plywood for the base.  I attached it to the wall of my trailer with  4 good heavy brass hinges from Lowes, screwed directly into the aluminum box supports in in the wall.  I made mine so when folded up it nearly hits the ceiling...I attached two rings on the ceiling with latches on the side of the bed so it could be fastened up out of the way...the bottom bunk can then be used a a couch....these bunks are about 3' x 7'.  I have a wall at each end of the bunks so I added a 1x2" "cleat" horizontal on the wall at each end for the bunk ends to rest on when its down.  The other option is to use cables like the bunks on this post if you dont have end walls.  For safety with kids you can get netting to hook up from the bunk edge to the trailer ceiling rings so they can't fall out.  We had mattresses made from foam for these...any local mattress shop should be able to do this for you.  If I get time I'll post a picture.
