Boy is it ever frustrating trying to find parts and pieces for older trailers. I have a 2002 Sooner and I've had to spend numerous hours on the phone with different vendors trying to get various items. Don't necessarily count on manufacturers to help you out especially if the company has been bought out. Not all companies keep good records of old transactions. I guess they just expect you to buy new which since the recession is not necessarily a reasonable expectation IMO. I see a lot of older trailers out there that people decided to keep and fix up just like older homes and cars instead of buying new. Here's a business idea for someone... start a business that specializes in parts for older trailers especially trailers that are no longer made or owned by different companies. I want to be able to call somebody up and say that I have X year of X trailer and I need X. I want to one stop shop. I've learned some good lessons in my research. Know who manufacturers your trailer doors and windows and know what the serial number is of your LQ or dressing room door in case you need to replace it at some time. If you have a HEHR door, they make a bunch of different doors so having that serial number will make life a lot simpler. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent and have a great day.Kim

I bet this forum can help you. If you could post a pic of what is needed, we might be able to come up with a suitable alternative. Ex-I have used tractor cab door handles that bolted right on for non-existant tack room handles in situations just like this....
Good luck!!

Thank you Spin Doctor and Retento for your help.  Great websites.

I've been able to find the vinyl screw cover (didn't originally know it was called screw cover as opposed to vinyl door trim so I learned that LOL)  for around the dressing room door and windows but now I'm search of the trim that goes around the back trailer doors.  That's a tough one for me.  Because the trim is so old, I can't be sure  whether it was glued or clipped and I'm not quite sure how to measure the trim for ordering either.  I've found a couple of places (Parkin Accessories and Austin Hardware) that I THINK carry it and have sent them pics but it's difficult for them to be 100% sure short of me sending them a sample which I will certainly do if I need to.  Those guys are nice but I'm just one little fish in the sea to them.  My local Sooner dealer here wasn't sure because it's an older trailer and they weren't a Sooner dealer back then.  Oh, if only someone who dealt in 2002 Sooners could tell me for sure what to order.   It would really be nice if this was as easy as going to a one stop shop discount auto parts store but it's just not.  Here's the year, make and model and here's what I need........LOL

Spin Doctor,  I'll try and post a pic of the back door trim that I'm looking for.  I tried earlier but wasn't successful.  I need to keep reading to figure out how to add a pic.

Isn't that trim around the rear doors just fender edge trim moulding?

Similar to fender trim but has an extra rubber bulb and chrome. Trim dimensions and trailer door thickness are also considerations.

One place people general don't think of shopping is the local glass dealer. They carry A LOT of different mouldings, rubber, vinyl, etc. I have used the local glass dealer several times...the last being for auto glass sealant that works great to take the squeak/rattle out of stock side plexiglass inserts...

Thank you Spin Doctor for the suggestion. You guys are wonderful!I've finally managed to find the back door trim for my trailer from none other than Universal whom I had originally called. After a couple of tries, I finally got to a knowledgeable person (Jenny) in the parts dept who was able to walk me thru and get me the correct width of trim. Because of the age of the trailer, I wasn't able to use just any trim or Exiss trim, as an example, because the door widths (front to back) are/were different so if the trim was too wide, the trim wouldn't have sealed properly and would have fallen off. (I've learned there are a lot of different trim sizes out there LOL.) Jenny was also very helpful in that she asked me if the door corners were square or rounded. Applying the trim to a square edge door would have meant I needed to do a little scoring. I would have never thought of that so I appreciated the help on that too.
