The factory placement of my battery box did not allow easy maintenace of the batteries. Having a couple of dead batteries after being replaced a year earlier, I had to make a change. My thought was to build a new battery box and lower it to allow maintence. Here are some pictures of the mod. All the outside work was done this weekend in 20º temperatures.

Great idea! My cousin's trailer has a similar box made out of diamond plating. It is nearly impossible to get the batteries out without hurting yourself. And to add insult to injury, the sides of the box are like razors. We both cut ourselves putting the batteries in and hooking them up!

I work for a power utility in the Decision Support Group. My work doesn't align with my hobbies, Reining and metal fabrication and metal art. I hate paying for a service and look at the finished product and could have made it better.

This is the new box! I tig welded all the cut edges so there is no sharp edges. Here is the before picture. There was 1/2" of clearance to remove the batteries, let along the was not way to see the connections of water level.

Sorry for the poor quality of the picture.

Good idea for a TV show Trick My Trailer. I would hang out at horse shows and get them back before the show ends. Remodel the house, suspensions, hi tech goods. Thanks for the compliments. Everyone is kind.

wow-nice.Wish you lived close! I want to do something like that but for water jugs. You know, those blue 5 gallon ones from Walmart. I want an outdoor sink under the gooseneck for washing hands, dishes, washing my hair on a hot day, and for adding water to mix with horses supplements in the feed bucket. Don't have the money to upgrade in any other way. I would love to be able to put two jugs next to each other. I do have a hayrack up top with 48 gallon tank but hate dealing with that one.Great job!
