Not sure what is going on with website, but could not pull it up. Heard through grapevine, they lost their secretary. So they could be just getting behind. Sure hope they did not shut the doors. One of our favorites. Here is the phone number. (877)932-4846 (417) 932-5225 hope this helps

We've got a ride/camp trip scheduled there in 2 weeks.Surely they would have notified folks if they were not open because a lot come from out of state for it.I thought Lisa Howell maintained the webpage.

The site was hosted by Go Daddy and I noticed that it was going to be taken down back in July (I have a Go Daddy site). The old page from a long time is still showing, but the dates are from 2009-2010. Please mention to Bret that a website is very important. I have directed folks that I have met at other camps to check out Big Creek. Most folks like to go online to get more info about a horsecamp. I know I do!

Big Creek is open and doing fine. We were just there and are heading back next weekend. Cant wait. I agree everyone needs to get onto Bret about a website.

I LOVE riding with the Howell family at Big Creek and wondered what happened to their website. I don't know who maintains it, but with Marsha and Ed dealing with other issues, I assumed that perhaps it was up to them to keep the site going. But I'm now guessing that the domain expired, and the address had to go .net. Well, happened to me years ago when my domain expired and didn't know it, as the info regarding the expiration went to an account I rarely accessed due to it receiving excess spam. So, I too, had to apply for a new domain. Trouble with that was I lost my high priority ranking with the search bots.
Main thing is~Big Creek is up and running and is good as ever. Hope to get back soon, if/when I can get a co-pilot to keep me awake for the long drive!

For those of you who camp or have camped at Big Creek at Hartshorn,MO in the past,I just received an email today that said Merle's wife,Linda, had a stroke and was airlifted to Nashville TN while on a camping trip someplace in or near KY,and she did not survive. It won't be the same without Linda, one of the finest women I've ever known.

The "Big Creek Bunch" take an annual camping trip at Land Between the Lakes each November. Linda suffered a severe stroke while there. She was a great lady, and she will be missed. It won't seem the same without her standing behind the counter in the tack shop. Here's a link to her obituary~
