Never tried a forum before, so if anything is not right about this post, please be patient. I'm in Washington & looking for a Brenderup trailer. Found one on CL in CA for $1,650! The gal told me a wierd story & also sent several photos that look legit - the trailer out in a rural setting, etc. This FEELS like a scam; what do some readers think?
(Her reply to my inquiry is below. Sounds fishy, right?...or am I just paranoid?)
Hi,
The trailer is available for sale. My best price for this trailer is $1,650.00 (the price is firm). I helped a friend get this trailer for himself. He ended up having to move and I took the trailer over and paid for in full. I am just wanting to get out of the trailer because I have no use for it. The price including the shipping is set at what was paid by me on the trailer. The trailer is stored to an escrow company warehouse in Wichita, KS ready for shipping and can be delivered within the US for FREE. I have attached all the pics that I've got. Don't worry about shipping and escrow fees they are already paid by me. If you are interested email me back and I will give you all the details on how to proceed.
Thank you!
Helen

SCAM... That ain't right.... How did you run across this trailer? I would have to yank their chain, email them back just to see what the next step in this scam would be. Guess they'll want you to wire them $3300.00. Then they will deliver your trailer and the extra $1650.00 that was sent in good faith!!

SCAM but ......... I would tell her that you happen to be going to Witchita this weekend for 2 weeks and would like to see the trailer before paying for it. Tell her you have no problem with the payment method etc but just can't wait to see the trailer in real life!

Craig's List and Ebay are full of this stuff right now guys. I have been looking for a slightly used Corvette and there is a bunch of that crap. EVERYone of them says something about free freight and then you can recieve it and decide if you like it or not. The stuff on Ebay even has a scam redirect page that makes you think you are putting a partial payment DOWN TO EBAY THEMSELVES, on your credit card!!!!! It is BS. Scam.

Thank you everyone. I did email her back to say I am so excited to see the trailer - what a great price....and also asked her for the VIN#, which my "hubby" insisted on. Wonder if I"ll hear from her again...
On a related note, I've been getting calls from the "IRS" saying they had a large sum of unclaimed money for me (could hardly understand the caller). I finally just asked him for his IRS agent id # - click. No more calls!
