I am looking to buy one of these trailers and have some questions if anyone has one or knows somebody who does. I am looking at the bumper pull with the tack area. My big question is can I fit 4 full size horses without removing tack divider? I am used to a 6' x 16' stock trailer(with tack room) and I easily fit 3 horses in that. I know it will not be super roomy for the horses but I just want to know if four will fit fairly easily without getting out the shoehorn!  I only take 4 about 4 times a year but it may be for an 8 hour trip.I can remove the divider- the horses are used to no dividers.

Also - any other info about this trailer appreciated- how does it pull? Is tack area secure?

A lot would depend on the size and type of horses...?

Full size quarter horse types- about 15.2h+ and 1100- 1300 lbs. Not drafts or warmbloods.

I would say it would be a tough load with four horses except for a short haul. By the floor plan there is only 53" ifor the hips in that back stall. A minimum width for most slants is 40" per horse. I have borrowed a friend's 16' BP for short hauls (30 minutes) and squeezed 5 horses in, but we had use of the entire 16' and his trailer is 6 1/2' wide. I wouldn't push it. Looks like a really nice trailer though. BOL

Still wonderin if anyone has one? My other option would maybe be a titan challenger in 18 foot model. They are special order in 18 foot. I carry a 1200lb. popup type camper in the bed so weight is  an issue or I would just go with a regular 20 foot 4 horse model. The truck has hauled the camper and 16 foot stock trailer with 3 horses up and down mountain passes for years so I am not worried about adding a bit more weight but dont want to go overboard. I hate to buy the 17' and find it just a bit too small but I am also used to putting 3 horses into abot 12.5 feet of the 16 footer( the rest is tack room.) The 40' stalls I know are way more room than they really need. I basically cannot decide between a 17 or 18 foot( have to special order the 18 and the 17' hotshots seem readily available. Tough decision for me.

Will the dealer let you try out the Trails West to see how it works with four horses? I'd hate for you to make the decision based on anybody's OPINION. Not mine or a dealers. From what I've seen, Trails West makes a darn good trailer that will stand the test of time and horses. Good luck!
