Welcome,

I think you are going to get a lot of different answers but it all boils down to what kind of money you want to spend & what quality you expect. Every manufactuer has their pros & cons in build, design and price point. Make a list of things you will not compromise on, and go from there.

well, do you want a step up or ramp? aluminum, aluminum/steel or steel? Wood floor, rumber floor or alum floor? Stock or enclosed? There are a lot of questions you may need to ask yourself and then look for trailers that have the features that you like.

I have a 2 horse straight load BP. I knew I wanted a fiberglass roof, and wood floor. I would have liked all aluminum, but I couldn't find the features I wanted with an all alum body, so I went with a composite alum/steel trailer. I wanted a ramp and lots of windows, big windows. Some trailers use a smaller window than I like.

With alum, I would have wanted it to be insulated, esp the roof, but I liked the fiberglass because it let in a lot of light that the solid alum roof didnt' do.

So, chart out your progress, go to a horse event of choice, and look at the trailers parked out in the lot. Basically that is what I did. I also went to a lot of trailer lots looking at features I liked.

Have fun!!! Buying a trailer can be frustrating but in the end, I got a really nice trailer that I like hauling.

My 2 horse runaround trailer is a Sundowner, big windows with guards and screens, 2 escape doors, removable partition and center post.  It has mangers with saddle storage underneath.  It is galvaneal with a fiberglass front cap on the roof.  White, to help keep it cool.  2 axle.  Just a nice basic trailer, has held up beautifully thus far. It is a 97 model, no rust and just a handy rig.

We purchased a Shadow 2 horse, BP, Straight load, 7'6" with a ramp and dressing room. It is a reasonably priced all aluminum 2 horse trailer and it is their basic 2 horse straight load. I like the walk thru door to the tack room and it has two big drop down windows in the front with guards on them. The only things I don't like about it are there are not enough tie rings (I am having them send me some more) and where the ties are on the outside of the trailer it can allow for the horse to catch his halter on the catch for the ramp if he is tied a bit longer. Putting the ramp up seems to work fine but it is still annoying to me. I also would have liked the back dutch doors to come off completely.
Shadow does make a nice 2 horse slant with drop downs at the head and stock side at the tail. I think they go for just under $11,000. The only reason I didn't go with that model is that I have two very big horses and they really get squished in a 6ft slant. They have more room in my straight load.
There are lots of good brands out there. Sometimes it is hard to choose. You might consider looking at something that is made somewhat close to you as getting things repaired can be easier and sometimes there is less shipping cost involved.
Good luck!
