A Kansas company bought them out last summer that has never made horse trailers before. My cousin has an old Florida made Sidekick that is nice, but don't know of the new company ever getting off the ground to make one. Maybe someone else has?

Well, they HAVE a website and an 888 number...

For product information contact Unruh Fab at 1.888.772.8400, or on the Web at http://www.unruhfab.com/ or http://www.sidekicktrailers.com/.

More than that its in the OP's court now...

FYI: OP is original poster

We've had a Sidekick trailer for several years. It is a three horse with a 13' short wall LQ, and center tack. It is built very well, has high quality hardware and a good floor plan. Our interior is built by Showtime and it is quite attractive and comfortable with every feature we need.

The stall walls and ceiling are fully finished and insulated, even the center tack area has a double wall and insulation. We have had no mechanical issues at all, and the trailer has been trouble free.

It has one issue however. The roof is a one piece fiberglass beam, front to rear, side to side. It is very strong and rigid allowing anyone to walk on it without any deflection. It however has a different rate of expansion and contraction than the aluminum roof caps to which it is attached. With the factory installed sealant becoming less flexible with age, a small leak has developed. I plan to coat the roof next year with an elastomeric surface.

I believe they are still being manufactured. We bought a horse this summer in Ohio and when we went to pick it up, we saw a new Sidekick trailer that had just been built for one of the boarders.

I would highly recommend this brand.

I'm Monte , I work for Sidekick Trailers, the company I work for purchased Sidekick 2 years ago. We did not have any experience building horse trailers although we have been in the manufacturing business of building truck bodies and Semi trailer for hauling glass and all aluminum fire trucks for over 30 years. Over half of the people here involved with Sidekick have horses and compete in either rodeos or horse shows. Sidekick's are still one of the highest quality trailers avaliable today. We have changed a few things to build them faster and make the doors stronger but the quality and structural integrity of the trailers has not been changed. Give me a call if you have any questions 888-772-8400

I didn't think Sidekick was purchased prior to Summer 06? My cousin had a heck of a time getting parts for her 05 which was made in FL. All of the photos on the web site of the Congress trailer were made in FL. The Sidekick website says July 06. I know it was purchased from Roe Patterson around that time.
