Does anyone know who makes the axles on late model Featherlites?  The manual refers to Dexter but not for all models.  Thanks!

I am sure if you ask Mr.Trailer he can answer your question, as he is Lonny Smith, Product Manager for Featherlite.

My mistake, I didn't realize he had changed companies. I still think he would be your best bet on here for finding out though.

I think Lonny is with Universal Trailer Company now.  If you look at his logo with his screen name it says UTC, not Featherlite.

Specifically the 8549, 5200# axles.

On that model would be Dexter. All of FL's standard axles are Dexter Torflex. The only way that this might not be the case is if it were a special request on a custom order.

I have a late model 8541 with torsion type axles. I'm pretty sure they are Dexter axles. Lonny is your best bet ...he helped someone on here the other day find a centercap for there Featherlite trailer. He gave them an 800#. How is the weather down in Roseville today....HOT I bet! I used to live in Auburn just up the road.

Thanks for the link, I'll call shortly.  CA folk are rare here! Yes, it's "only" 98 here today, yesterday was just brutal at 106.

Thanks!  I didn't custom order so I guess thats what they are.  I was hoping they were Dexter as I've heard good things about them and suppliers are common.
