i am ordering a new trailer soon.  am torn between the 7 l/2 and the 8' wide, and trailer will have mangers.  its going to be a 4 horse with l2 LQ.  can anyone estimate the cost difference between the 2 widths.  i heard the 7 l/2 are hard to resell.  opinions please?

You will be better off with the eight wide. Makes a world of difference. I have had both, but now have an 8 wide and will never buy nothing else. I think the resale value is better...but that is just my experience. I am not sure about the cost difference, but the 8 wides are just more roomy, hard to belive that a half foot makes so much difference.

I agree, go 8' wide. It is worth the cost difference IMO. I have also had both and it is hard to believe the difference. You won't regret it. And, I didn't have any trouble selling by other trailer.

I'd go with the 8ft width.
a) The difference in interior space IS SIGNIFICANT (apparent and real).
b) The track will be the same, so you won't need more width on the ground to manuver it.
c) The fenders will stick out less, personally I find it easier to judge the width of the trailer when it is ALL Trailer vs trailer plus fenders.
d) It will push a bit more air, so fuel consumption MIGHT be (insignificantly) higher on highway trips. This is NOT something I would worry about.
e) It will very cost little more, perhaps no more as it is more standard than 7 1/2 ft, so it disturbs production less.

I bought a 3H slant with a 6ft SW and the diff. between 6 wide and 7 wide was $600. Go for the 8ft.

8ft............worth every penny.   You are correct on the re-sale of the 7 ft.  When I was looking for a lq used, I didn't give the 7 ft ones a first look............

No big difference in resale 6 inches......I love fact can easily see around tires on trailer.Had 8 ft wide an was just such wide road hog too.I myself drive trailer just as much as husband an LOVE size of 7 1/2 an mangers are just one more place horses could get into trouble too.We dont care for space under them sorta small dead area cramped too.Brand of trailer will make it be big factor in resale VALUE.Too many cheap made trailers out there.JMO

Typically the 7'6 wide & 8'W option are the same price. There's a charge to move from 7' to something- but your call on the rest.

many manufacturers don't offer 7'6"W. Its 7' or 8'. I'd go 8' IMO on a LQ.

Just bought:

C & C 24 foot box 3 horse slant load without mangers.  8 foot wide with rear tack and rear ramp. 10 foot short wall.

The difference between 7 and 8 was I believe $760.  Had a 7 wide and the room difference seems very MAJOR.  There seems to be so much space available now.  I thought I had alot of space before and went 8 wide just because I had the extra money.

The only adjustment is getting used to not being able to see people driving behind you.  The trailer fenders sit exact with the fenders of my 02 Ford 350.  Not bad but just different than what I was used to and still getting used to.

Nearly all of the buyers I talk to that want nicer LQ trailers want them 8' wide.  I think it adds a great deal to the resale value.  In the Platinum, you can choose between 7 1/2' or 8' wide for the same money.
