We want to raise our floor up, can we use the same insulation that we used on the walls (1 inch blue foam board) and did all of you put insulation in the gooseneck / bed????  I didn't think about that??

OKAY... I have my ceiling done now!!!  CHEER!!!! going to start on paneling tonight.  I bought the knotty pine plank paneling... hoping to get that and the floor done by NEXT weekend!  I still haven't gotten you all pictures of the ceiling... we did use soffit, and I highly recommend!  It was fairly easy and look nice!

On your floor, yes, you can/should insulate.  Then put down a sheet of plywood, then whatever flooring you want.

On the gooseneck, I insulate, then put down plywood there also.

Remember on the plywood, don't go real thick, it will add a lot of weight to your trailer.  3/8" is sufficient.

Danielle,

Haven't been on in awhile and was glad to see you were done with your ceiling. My whole tack/sleeping area has been done for a few weeks now. Took it out this weekend and nothing fell apart, just wainting for the snow to melt to take it up to the mountains, might not get in until late June , get us some pics to see what you got done so far......

I was hoping I could use the same insulation as I used on the walls... the blue foam insulation... does anyone have any thoughts on that????

GOT THE PANELING DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I also went and bought the floor.  It was a "promotional item" and was HALF of the cost of the pine laminate that I was looking at.  It was $40 and this stuff was like $22.  I went with the CHEAPER!!!  It is DARK... like a redish brown.  I thought it would contrast really neat with the LIGHT LIGHT pine paneling!  What do you think???

So up in the nose, should I just put the plywood, or the blue foam insulation there?  I have several sheets of insulation left.  It was 1 inch, which is how high we want to raise the floor.

I would insulate the bed area and the floor.  That is what I have done in the past and am doing with my current project.

I did 4 of them by putting down a 1x2 strip around the sides and top put down the Dow blue board and stapled the carpet to the strips. Then put the mattress on.

I would insulate it. I had a trailer one time that did not have the nose floor insulated and the cold would come up through the metal. Made sleeping rotten.

Danielle,

Blue foam should be ok to use for your floor. I would put some 3/8" OSB on top of that and then your laminate. That's how I did mine. Did my gooseneck the same way (minus the laminate). I used 1/2" insulation but I don't see a problem with 1" might even be a bit more cushy...LOL
