Can not believe they are actually going to re call these now.....  This has been a common problem with Dodge since 2000 and mainly on 4x4 trucks.  Is known my most as the "death wobble"!  Causing the truck to have a major wobble in the front end between 30 to 60 mph.  Bad part for the owners is a lot of these trucks have already been fixed at the expense of the customer!

Yeap, my hayman had his tie rod end break clean a couple years ago. It's an old recall that was issued a while back. His was a 2wd also.

So as I mentioned in an earlier comment on this issue we own a 2005 Dodge 2500 and I had an accident under the conditions stated in the recall, low speed, turning the steering wheel and the tie rod snapped. I ended up putting the truck into a concrete pole. I didn’t report to the insurance company as the cost was under the deductable. So out comes a second recall notice same problem. Thank you Horse trailer world. I called Dodge to explain what happened and maybe figure out a path to follow so that we would be reversed the money that was put into the truck to have it repaired. Mine you we are only talking about an $800.00 plus bill. Fortunately it was mechanical only with no body damage to the truck or injury to myself. After spending over 30 minutes I was told by Dodge that they would do nothing and gave no suggestions other than sue them for the damages.
What a great way to treat a customer!
I’m open to hearing what others as to what they would do at this point.
Thanks again

I have an '04 2500 Diesel and haven't had any issues, but will gladly let Dodge pay to fix it.

I got my recall yesterday. States 2003 through 2008 model year Dodge Ram 1500/2500/3500 series trucks that HAD the steering linkage replaced with MOPAR service parts. The problem per Chrysler is: The left tie rod ball stud on your truck may fracture under certain driving conditions. This could cause a loss of directional control and/or crash without warning.WOW this is nice! My letter tells me I can not call until 1/6/2014 to check to see if mine is actually in the recall group or not. I would say since mine has not been replaced it is fine!

Yes about time! At least they say if you have repaired the truck send your original repair bill with the recall notice. We'll see how they handle that.
