Gurr, lost a tire and it took out my fender and one of the windows in my drop downs. Where is the best place to get a replacment window? Do I have to get the whole drop down window part or can I hopefully get just the window part? 02 Exiss LQ ,I beleive it is a Hehr window. On Hehr's website it shows the whole drop down assembly.

is it glass only that was damaged? (not sure if hehr, tire, or fender is lying on the road or ?!! ) Most likely glass, or window, can be replaced after your tire took out the FENDER and WINDOW! Will check some for you..

the glass in the window is shattered. The outside frame of the complete drop down is bent, but I can straighten it. The fender, well I will be replacing it in the next few weeks. Right now I am just concerned with getting the window repaired. Spoke with the nearest Exiss dealer (3+hours away) Window maybe avaliable need to pull the other one out to get them the part number. I am going to try a local glass shop and see if they can just replace the glass for me???

A lot of times they can make a custom piece of glass for the window.....it needs to be safety glass and tinted to match your other windows if they are tinted, and they can provide all of this, most likely..

JMHO if the frame is bent, maybe you should just replace the whole drop down. You might have trouble getting it to close properly. I had the same thing happen and it was a mess. I replaced the whole drop down window. If you had your drop down attached to a manger door, you need to check that too. It bent the frame on my manger door and sprung the locking mechanism. I was able to salvage the manger door, but had to replace the lock. Luckily, my trailer was less than 2 years old so my manufacturer sent me all the parts I needed for free. The tire manufacturer paid me market value for all 5 of the tires that came on the trailer new after much "discussion". So sorry that it happened to you too. Good luck in getting everything fixed.

My trailer does not have mangers, so alteast I don't have to worry about the manger door! (one positive) Just the silver part of the drop down window frame is bent in one area I am pretty sure we can get it straightened out. HATE to pay $200+ for awhole new dropdown window when I am looking at spending $800 for new tires. My tires are less than 2 years old, but sure don't want to take any chances. You were lucky to have the copmany help you out.

When you go to the glass shop, also ask about the possibility of installing a 1/4" thick piece of Lexan. It is lighter than glass, almost indestructable and scratch resistant. It's also faster to cut and work than safety glass, and many shops would have a scrap piece that size left over from larger projects.
