That time of year when day rides are in due to it getting darker a little earlier, that and this time of year brings great sierra color and storm pictures! Took Miss Du with again. This time it was a 16 miler for her. Not very long but a hard all uphill and granite rock and boulders. (Now what kind of ride would it be with me without granite, correct?! questionicon.gif ) Here's one to get you ready for some more when I can get on the puter longer. It's of course Josie and down on a small rock Miss Du taking a break with the storm moving on in. We were up on a small granite outlook, and some spectacular pics I got of this storm!

On some other boards I've put this on, it's like "where's the dog?". She is so hard to photograph against the granite due to her color. But here are some that I caught of her in a moment looking for a chipmunk she spied on the trail. These were all taken from the back of Josie...........................

Now this one was kind strange but thought it turned out pretty neat. I was trying to zoom in on Josie but get the trail coming down and Miss Du, just plopped herself on down for a pose, see what yall think.......

Great picture, can't wait until you get the rest of them posted.  How is your other horse, Fancy, doing since she got hurt?

Fancy is out to pasture for about another 8 months and we'll re evaluate her situation then. She does good then that damned leg puffs up again. Maybe an ongoing thing with riding, so...............looks as we may breed her with a quarter stud and leave just enough arab for the endurance in the mountains with a foal.

Beautiful!  I, too, am living for the day my responsibilities here are done and I can ride like I used to.  I had a Morgan mare who had no q2uit in her and was a sure footed as a mountain goat!  We went places a mountain goat would have turned down LOL!

I've always loved Morgans, the old type. They are little die hards! Short, stocky, nice big feet, sure footed, great mountains horses. I had a friend who had a morgan/quarter mare. WOW! She was a tank!!!!!!!

My mare was my BEST friend.  She knew what I wanted before I did.  She was really one in a million.  Cried like a baby when she died.

Hi Ice, glad to see you're still on here,

Yes, every board I have posted on ask me that, Josie learned to ground tie last year. I just kept doing it with her when up in the mountains and she finally caught on. As I have also typed them, "see you can teach an old horse new tricks...." LOL!!!!!!
