Recently a State Rep - Tim Moore - introduced Michigan HB 4610 "Right to Ride" and it was referred to the Michigan Committee on Tourism, Outdoor Recreation and Natural Resources.

This bill will be discussed by that committee on April 28th, 2009. In order to urge the members of the committee to enact this into law, there is an online petition for people to sign that will be submitted to the committee on April 28th, 2009.

I ask that everyone who can, sign the petition AND forward the link to anyone else you know that rides in Michigan. We need to show not only state support - but show that horses and pack animals are an important part of using public lands.

The complete wording of the bill is available on the petition site, along with who to contact.

The group behind this is the Pigeon River & Beyond, Back Country Horsemen of Michigan and Ottawa, and Central Michigan.
