I was asked about finding info on the Wind River range.

Public lands gives you an area map that can be used to see the various trail heads and camping areas.
http://publiclands.org/explore/quadrant_map.php?plicstate=WY&quad=w...

For example, to find double cabin camping area:
http://mapper.acme.com/?ll=43.78968,-109.55532&z=13&t=M&marker0=43....

With the usgs maps you can find the maps and there names at the site below. You have to copy and paste the entire url into you browser. For some reason if you only click on the url you do not get the complete site.

http://store.usgs.gov/b2c_usgs/usgs/maplocator/(xcm=r3standardpitrex_prd&layout=6_1_61_48&uiarea=2&ctype=areaDetails&carea=%24ROOT)/.do

In Search enter "Five Pockets" change search type to "USGS Map Name"

On the right select "Mark Points" so you can see the map names in highlighted yellow.

zoom to 2mi/5km as seen in the lower left hand side of the screen Snow Lake is to the right.

You can not search for Snow Lake(there is more than one Snow Lake) Select Map, and you'll be able to see the road with the upside down U. Double cabin is about 1 mile south of the top of the U on the east fork of the road

You can use Acme Maps and Pedometer:
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/
to find the trails and and plot distances and with Pedometer you can turn on Elevation and get the changes in elevations along the trails.
With both Acme Maps and Pedometer differing zoom levels will give you more or less trails,ie, not all trails are shown in one zoom level.
