Looking for Opinions on Featherlite 8549 for Walking Horses
Hey everyone,
I'm considering purchasing a Featherlite 8549 slant load warmblood trailer and wanted to see if anyone has experience with this setup. Are these trailers generally safe and comfortable for Walking Horses? Any specific concerns I should be aware of regarding height, width, or overall design? I normally haul with a Featherlite 8941 and the stalls width is 40 inches. With the 8549, the stall width is going to be 50 inches.

That should be a good fit. Assuming you are meaning performance TWH the needs are similar with warmbloods. Typical saddle pleasure TWH aren't quite that big- especially the long bodied part. But the are still highheaded. But- your nomenclature can be confusing. You refer to 50" stalls- but I believe you'll find 50" divider pin spacing, and the actual width between the dividers will be much less. But you don't need 50" either. :). We see a lot of TWH trail horses happy in 39" pin spacing and 7' tall. 7'6" tall maybe a bit cooler travel.
